Ocean Signs BC is a real estate sign service company. Offering SIGN PRINTING, POST RENTAL and POST INSTALLATION. We strive to provide Fast, Dependable and Professional service to the real estate agents of Nanaimo and surrounding area. The following Terms and Conditions are provided to help foster a mutually beneficial business relationship.
GENERAL OVERVIEW: Ocean Signs BC provides and installs a PVC signpost at a customer specified address for the purposes of advertising that property for sale or rent. Ocean Signs BC also provides sign panel storage and installation services, as well as the opportunity to order ‘add on’ items, like brochure boxes and riders, to assist the agent in selling or renting the property.
ORDER COMPLETION TIME FRAME: Ocean Signs BC’s policy is to complete all orders within 48 hours, excluding extreme weather days and weekends.
SERVICE AREAS: We offer full service to the greater Regional District of Nanaimo and the communities of Oceanside, BC. Including the following Municipalities:
· Nanaimo
· Lantzville
· Nanoose Bay
· Parksville
· Coombs
· Errington
· French Creek
· Bowser
· Deep Bay
· Qualicum Beach
ORDER PLACEMENT: Agent is responsible for providing complete and accurate property address information. This includes house number, correctly spelled street name, city, postal code, and directions if needed. All of this information must be provided correctly at the time of booking or the order completion policy is invalidated, and additional charges may apply.
Agent is responsible for knowing, prior to placing order, if posts are permissible at installation address. If an Ocean Signs BC installer is turned away by the homeowner or the Home-Owner Association, a trip charge will apply.
For signpost installations on vacant land and construction sites, customer must have locator stakes in place prior to placing the installation order.

ORDER CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS: For changes to your order before 3PM the day before your order is to be completed, please e-mail the change to info@oceansignsbc.com
For cancellations after 3PM the day before your order is scheduled to be completed, please call (250)200-1218 to cancel the order.
SIGNPOST PLACEMENT: We always strive to put each post in a location which will provide the agent with maximum exposure for their sign. However, we must consider safety, liability and by-law concerns. Posts will be placed on the property at the discretion of our trained installers unless special instructions are given at the time of order.
It is necessary for us to adhere to all by-laws that apply to signage. However, it is the agent’s responsibility to confirm by-law requirements before installation. Agents will be contacted immediately if any problems arise during the installation process. If the installation is cancelled by the vendor at the point of install there is a minimum $30.00 charge.
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES: By placing an order with Ocean Signs BC, whether via Internet or phone, the agent accepts full responsibility for locating, identifying, and marking all underground equipment, including utility lines, cable lines, sprinkler systems and underground dog fences. Neither Ocean Signs BC nor its subcontractors accept responsibility for damage to unmarked underground facilities. Locating and marking such facilities are the responsibility of the homeowner and the agent.
The presence of yard lights (gas or electric) or any visible electrical or telephone boxes (light green in color) indicates that there are underground utility lines at the property. In these situations, Ocean Signs BC recommends that the homeowner or agent call a locating company.
SIGN PANEL STORAGE POLICY: Ocean Signs BC also provides sign panel storage and installation service to agents who request and sign up for this service. All signs panels will be stored with care in a dry and locked facility. Agent must have provided sufficient panels to Ocean Signs BC, and a panel must be in the Ocean Signs BC storage facility at the time an installation order is placed for an installation to be completed within 48 hours.
While in our storage facility, sign panels are fully insured against theft or loss of property. Insurance is not valid during any time it is on display at a listing with a sign post rental.
SIGNPOST RENTAL PERIOD AND REMOVAL: Ocean Signs BC services are a rental relationship with the agent and/or agency. Agent is fully responsible for all items rented from Ocean Signs BC, including posts, riders, brochure boxes and attaching hooks/clips.
The rental period for an installation is 6 months, Ocean Signs BC reserves the right to charge a renewal fee of $30 for every 4 months thereafter.
Agents and homeowners are strictly forbidden from moving or removing installed posts. If post or metal PVC post anchor is damaged in any way, agent/agency is responsible for up to an $150 lost/damaged post charge.
RESOLVING SIGNPOST ORDER ISSUES: If there are any issues related to your signpost installation (i.e., missing/incorrect riders, missing/broken brochure box, leaning/fallen signpost) please place a service call via our website, or via emailing info@oceansignsbc.com and the issue will be corrected as soon as possible.
PAYMENT: Payment is accepted via Electronic Funds Transfer, Credit Card, Cash or Registered Business Cheques.
The cost of the removal is built into the original installation pricing. It is the agent’s responsibility to request the post to be removed when no longer needed. We ask that you notify us to remove the post a week before your listing closes. This ensures that the post will not inhibit the moving process and will be down before the new vendors take possession.
Pre-ordering your removals is a good practice and is welcomed and appreciated.
INVOICING & LATE PAYMENT POLICY: Invoices will be issued for all installations on the last day of the month. Payment is due upon receipt. It is the agent’s responsibility to ensure that their account is current and up to date.
All invoices are considered past due if not paid within 15 days of issue. An initial late payment charge of $5 will be applied. Invoices 30 days past due will incur a 2.5% interest fee on the total outstanding balance monthly from the date of issue up to the date of payment in full.
Ocean Signs BC reserves the right to remove a post, without notice, if an overdue installation charge goes unpaid for 60 days.
DAMAGED OR LOST OCEAN SIGNS BC PROPERTY POLICY: It is the agent’s responsibility to ensure that all Ocean Signs BC property is present and in good condition at the time of signpost removal. If for any reason, items are missing or damaged, a fee may be applied to the agent’s invoice. Ocean Signs BC will document, photograph, and communicate any damage found at the time of removal immediately.

Lost/Damaged Post: $150
Lost/Damaged metal anchor: $30
Additional Trip Charge: $30
Incorrect Map Coordinates: $15
Incorrect Address Information: $10
Missing Brochure Box at Removal: $40/$10 (depending on style)
OCEAN SIGNS BC LOYALTY PROGRAM AND PROMOTIONS POLICY: Ocean Signs BC runs a referral-based loyalty program. All customer referrals earn a $30 credit towards a future service. Credit will be applied to the referring agents account at the time of new customers first booking. All credits are valid towards future invoices only.
Ocean Signs BC reserves the right to alter or terminate any promotions without notice at any time.
